Axis AME IP Sdn Bhd, an equal joint venture between the Axis Group and AME Group, is investing RM600 million to develop a 93.08ha industrial city in Indah Putra, Iskandar Malaysia in Johor.
Phase I and II of the industrial park are about 70 % complete, while Phase III is scheduled to be completed by year end or early 2015, Axis AME IP executive director Datuk Stewart Labrooy said.
He said the i-Park offers multinational companies in the manufacturing and logistics sectors an industrial park built to international standards and is ready to cater to the demand of MNCs keen to relocate from Singapore and other parts of Asia.
Meanwhile, the SME City houses semi-detached, detached and cluster factories aimed at drawing small and medium enterprises in manufacturing, distribution, services, information technology and packaging.
The i-Park and SME City are the only 'plug and play' industrial sites in the market – providing piped gas, power and water to TM Unifi broadband services, Labrooy said in a recent statement.
To-date, the i-Park has attracted companies such as Van Leeuwen, Nippon Kinzoku and Heraeus, he said, adding that a leading food MNC has already made reservation for a 6ha site under Phase III.
